Overview & Challenges
Central Square Foundation (CSF) primarily engages in developing course material (called Public Goods) for government school teachers. However, they didn’t have a dedicated website where users can access and download the Public Goods.
CSF is one of the largest non-profit organizations well-established in the education sector. Their public goods are an ideal resource for building state-of-the-art literacy programs. The success of these public goods would be in their widespread adoption and customization for FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) programs across the globe.
They only had a Public Goods page on their main CSF website. That page too was very basic and lacked clarity and accessibility, making it difficult for users to interact. Through a dedicated Public Goods website, CSF wanted to expand the reach and use of Public Goods by helping the target users easily find and download resources relevant to their needs.
Our Solutions - The Strategy & Work
Headless Website Experience Design and Development Solutions to Enhance Engagement and Experience
The project was broken down into three parts – User journey strategy, design and headless development. After several meetings, we came up with a mobile-first wireframe keeping in mind the end users.
CSF’s topmost priority was to have an advanced search and filter functionality. This is because their resource management system could have become utterly mismanaged with the huge number of learning content resources required to be organized and presented for the users. After multiple tests and trials, we shortlisted and used Algolia, an AI-powered search and discovery solution, to make sure the complex filters were implemented without any hassles.
The tech stack selected for this project was the fully headless solution – Sanity, Vercel and NextJS, apart from Algolia. Headless CMS is an advanced technology that gives the development and editing team the flexibility to go beyond the limitations of a traditional CMS. It enables us to develop highly customizable solutions, to the extent that it gives the users the feel of browsing a mobile application.
We also implemented a Netflix-like recommendation system on the home page wherein the sets of similar content resources are displayed in rows one after the other. This made the website more interactive and provided easy navigation.
Outcomes & Results
Highly scalable and fast resource management system
The Headless website experience we built for CSF offers easy filtering, smooth user experience, and a comprehensive resource management system. Filtering, browsing, and downloading the resources has become very easy and convenient on the new website.
Conclusion
CSF’s Public Goods are developed by experts and are mapped to international and national standards.
This highly advanced and user-oriented website will definitely help public goods to reach teachers, organizations, and states beyond boundaries.
